Johana Martinez made his third consecutive tournament victory at the International Wheelchair Tennis Trident Cup. Johana who is currently ITFranking 27 won 6-3 6-4 after a difficult duel at each point that played against Chilean player Maria Antonieta Ortiz ITF ranking 21 and seed No. 1 of the tournament.

In doubles Johana Martinez and Johanna Sossa were the runners-up after a disputed three-set match against Maria Antonieta Ortiz from Chile and Maria Angelica Bernal from Colombia. 1-6, 6-3, 4-6

Johana participated in this tournament for the first time in December 2003, just 10 days after in the sport of wheelchair tennis she achieved the title in singles and doubles and thus initiating the achievement of his dream as a tennis player. Johana Martinez concludes its sporting calendar year 2009 with a great result and great expectations for 2010.

Cali was the first city in Colombia having a national tennis tournament in wheelchairs and the first in Colombia becoming international, from that day Cali has received Johana Martinez with very good results.

Johana Martinez got the title on the CIMARRON National Tournament “ROMPIENDO BARRERAS” (Breaking Barriers) Villavicencio 2009, after defeating in the first round Rocio Garzón (Ibaguá) 8-0, then faced Maria Angelica Bernal (Bogota), taking the match 8-2, advanced later to the final beating Elsa Gonzalez (Ibaguá) 6-0, 6-0.

She got the title after defeating Johanna Sossa 6-3, 6-1 in the final.

This national tournament was supported by the IDRD and serve as preparation for the final international tournament of the year  from December 3rd to the 6st in Cali, Colombia.
